The owners of Club 88 and Vegas Resort—Mariana Entertainment LLC and MP Holdings—take pride in their 100-percent local workforce.
During the ribbon-cutting ceremony last Saturday for Club 88’s expansion in Garapan, Mariana Entertainment LLC consultant Gus Noble said he is proud of the local staff that they have hired in their last four years of operation.
“In the last few months, the company that runs Vegas Resort now runs Club 88 so we are now one family…we are happy with our staff. I am proud to say that we have a total of 45 local staff,” he said.
Gov. Ralph DLG Torres, who was present for the ribbon cutting, said that having 100-percent local employment is a testament that the CNMI is moving forward in hiring local U.S. workers.
“We have more workforce today since 2002…when you see businesses, regardless of what it is, when you see opening of businesses and you continue to see ground breakings and ribbon cuttings…that’s opportunities and that’s lives that are…moving forward,” he said.
According to Noble, the Club 88 expansion cost about $250,000 and would give customers a much larger gaming venue and more machines to choose from.
Also present at the ceremony was first lady Diann Torres, Senate President Arnold I. Palacios (R-Saipan) and Rep. Edmund Villagomez (Ind-Saipan).
