CNMI has received $73.43M FEMA COVID-19 relief as of June 6, 2023

As of June 6, 2023, the CNMI has received $73.43 million in total Federal Emergency Management Agency COVID-19 relief, according to Delegate Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan (D-MP) over the weekend.

This developed after FEMA announced Tuesday that DHSEM will get $1,086,225 more in COVID-19 relief to provide for the Marianas’ protective measures during the pandemic, including opening an Emergency Operation Center that directed and coordinated resources and response activities and disseminated public information on health and safety measures.

Sablan disclosed over the weekend in his e-kilili newsletter that, as of June 6, 2023, DHSEM has received $56.80 million in total FEMA grants for COVID-19 relief efforts so far.

Sablan said the CNMI government’s lost wages program also received $7.72 million; the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp., $6.89 million; the Office of the Governor, $1.92 million; and Funeral Assistance Applicants, $87,531.
