According to CUC public information officer Brad Ruszala yesterday, this meeting is over tank and pipeline projects from court-stipulated order No. 2.

The meeting, or status conference, is one CUC continues to hold for the stipulated orders the federal court signed CUC in 2009, setting the requirements and deadlines for the utilities agency to meet. The orders represent an agreement between the CNMI and the EPA on how CUC will come into compliance with the requirements of the Clean Air Act and the Safe Drinking Water Act.

During a status conference last month, CUC reported potential defective welding is holding up CUC’s court-ordered Tank 102 project. CUC said X-rays were taken of these weldings to assess their conditions.
