The Tuesday League of the Saipan Billiards Association 8-Ball Budweiser Cup is down to two teams.
Left standing after the first two rounds of games are IT&E Amari Destroyers and 9 Eleven Wildboys. IT&E Amari Destroyers won their first game last Sept. 16 after ousting Marianas Water, 9-6, and then secured a finals berth in the division after beating regular season champion Docomo Hustlers last Tuesday, 9-4. The Hustlers, before bowing to the Destroyers, advanced to the semifinals following a 9-6 triumph over the 911 Str8 Black Ball.
The Wildboyz, on the other hand, made it to the title game set for Oct. 2 after dominating Brannon’s 670 Builders in the semifinals, 9-2. The Wildboys earlier ousted Amari’s Masters Touch, 9-7, to march into the Final Four, while Brannon’s 670 Builders drew a bye in the first round to automatically move into the semis.
Meanwhile, the Thursday League played its semifinal round last night.
Brannon’s Jam Shooters, 911 8 Black Ball, Sand Team SCS, and Amari’s Intensity 5 were the semifinalists after knocking out their respective opponents last Sept 20.
Brannon’s Jam Shooters earned a Final Four berth following a 9-4 triumph over 911 MJD Warriors and the former were scheduled to face 8 Black Ball in the semis. 8 Black Ball posted a 9-5 win over IT&E Amari’s Homeboyz to remain in contention for the Bud Cup title.
In other results, Sands Team SCS and Amari’s Intensity eliminated 911 Titans, 9-8, and VFW Assasins, 9-7, respectively, to arrange their semis duel. Winner of the pair of Final Four games last night will battle for the division crown on Oct. 4.
