DPW sets energy awareness campaign on Tinian

The Department of Public Works through the Energy Division Office will be hosting the 2016 Tinian Energy Awareness Campaign on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016 at the Tinian Gymnasium.

Registration is from 9am to 10am and the presentation is from 10:15am to 11:30am.

This event will provide the residential community tips on how to conserve energy at homes and how to save money using efficient products that carry the Energy Star label and educate the community on the importance of energy conservation in the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands.

The Energy Division through its Energy, Education, Efficiency and Conservation Program efforts will be distributing reusable shopping bags and raffle of either a 16” Pedestal Fan or Portable Stove for each attendee.

Due to limited seating for event, interested individuals must call to pre-register with the CNMI Energy Division office at 664-4480/81 to confirm seating beginning, Monday, Aug. 15, 2016 from 7:30am to 11:30am and from 12:30pm to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, except weekends and holidays.

Registrations end on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016. Pre-registered individuals with confirmed seats must present a valid government-issued identification (ID) with photo and proof of active utility account and most current utility bill information in his/her name. Failure to provide such information will be subject to removal of individual’s name from the pre-registration list and denied participation and entry into the event.

Funding opportunity for this project was possible through a grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Energy-State Energy Program (SEP).
