DUI checkpoints on Friday, Saturday
The Department of Public Safety will be conducting sobriety checkpoints on Friday, July 6, and Saturday, July 7.
Friday’s checkpoint will be on Beach Road Garapan by the 13 Fishermen’s Monument from 10:30pm to 11:45pm. Saturday’s checkpoint will be on Chalan Pale Arnold (Middle Road) by the Sherwin Williams building, from 1:30am to 2:45am.
Each checkpoint will last at least 75 minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes).
In addition, traffic and highway patrol officers will be conducting highway criminal interdictions, saturation patrols, aggressive driver interdictions, and laser (speed detection) enforcement.
This activity is part of the department’s effort to deter, detect and apprehend impaired drivers, and to ensure that all passengers are wearing proper restraining devices, seatbelts, or car seats.
