Easy victory for CT Law NMI Rollers

The CT Law NMI Rollers coasted past the 670 Sonics XVI, 67-39, during the lone game played in the 2018 Frank M. Diaz Memorial Youth League last Wednesday at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.

Angelo Factor top-scored for CT Law NMI Rollers after registering 18 points, while Sunjoon Tenorio, Jelbert Quitugua, and A.J. Hudkins backed the former up. Tenorio added 13 markers, while Quitugua and Hudkins contributed 9 and 7 points, respectively.

Factor dropped 12 of his total points in the first quarter to give the CT Law NMI Rollers a 20-6 advantage. The lead ballooned in the ensuing periods with other CT Law NMI Rollers players stepping up and outgunning the 670 Sonics XVI.

Quitugua made 7 markers in the second quarter to help the CT Law NMI Rollers keep the double-digit advantage at the break, 33-18. Then in the third canto, it was Tenorio’s turn to lead the CT Law NMI Rollers’ offense with his 8 markers handing his squad a 17-point margin, 50-33. For the final canto, Hudkins delivered the killer blows, recording all his points in that frame to complete the CT Law NMI Rollers’ domination of the 670 Sonics XVI.

670 Sonics XVII 47, Chinatown Titans 40
Jeph Ejercito and Christian Bravo hit clutch baskets to lift the 670 Sonics XVII past the Chinatown Titans in last Monday’s match.

Ejercito scored the 670 Sonics XVII’s last two field goals, while Bravo nailed three free throws down the homestretch. Ejercito finished the game with 11 points.

The 670 Sonics XVII led right from the get-go, but could not pull away, as the Titans remained persistent, mounting a comeback in each quarter.

NMI Rollers 49, Kagman Sparks 28

Jun Agulto powered the NMI Rollers to the lopsided win after firing 22 points. He drilled the NMI Rollers’ first 8 markers and wrapped up the opening canto with 10 points for their 16-2 advantage.

The NMI Rollers gunner then slowed down in the middle quarters, but finished what he started, as he tallied 8 points in the final canto for their 21-point winning margin.
