Employment opportunity at the park

National Park Service officials would like to inform the public of career opportunities at the American Memorial Park.

The park just opened a vacancy announcement for a full-time term position, park ranger. This position will be filled under the contiguous-to-the-area appointing authority for the American Memorial Park. Applications will be accepted only from individuals who have maintained a permanent exclusive residence on Saipan for a minimum of two years. The salary begins at $32,318 per year, plus 13.70 percent cost of living allowance and federal benefits.

Duties for this position include, but are not limited to: Performing opening and closing of visitor center; informing visitors about park facilities and resources; operating a variety of audiovisual and other equipment used in connection with interpretive material; conducting basic research of topics to provide interpretive programs; presenting a variety of formal and informal programs including orientation talks, environmental education programs, conducted walks, demonstrations and campfire programs; coordinating the park permit program; updating and maintaining social media and park website and performing various administrative duties such as scheduling, compilation of statistical data, etc.

The vacancy is open from Nov. 7 to Nov. 14.
