Eucon’s Wei reelected as TRACS institutional rep

Dr. Christian Wei, president of EUCON International University on Saipan, was reelected as one of the institutional representatives by Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) for a period of three years.

Dr. Wei has served as TRACS evaluator in 2009 until 2012, and became member of the accreditation commission since June 1, 2012 until June 30, 2018. He is being sent to various institutions in the U.S. mainland, Pacific, and Asia to evaluate their readiness and compliance with TRACS standards and evaluative criteria prior to granting their accreditation status.

The community especially EUCON benefits from experiences he gained from all his visits to various institutional organizations around the world by learning from their successes and mistakes.

The nominating committee also announces results of the 2015 election of Accreditation Commission members.

The following individuals were elected for a three-year term which will begin on July 1, 2015, and end on June 30, 2018:

Institutional Representatives:

• Dr. James Flanagan, president, Luther Rice University
• Dr. Kathy Franklin, provost and executive vice president, Virginia University of Lynchburg
• Mr. Harry Schmidt, president, Christian Life College
• Dr. Gary Weier, executive vice president for Academic Affairs, Bob Jones University

Public Representative:
• Dr. William Bowden, Retired Educator

Dr. Kizuwanda Grant, vice president of Academic Affairs, Paul Quinn College, was elected to serve as an institutional representative for a two-year term which will begin on July 1, 2015, and end on June 30, 2017:

TRACS is recognized by both the United States Department of Education (USDOE) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) as a national institutional accrediting agency for Christian postsecondary institutions, colleges, universities, and seminaries.

TRACS is authorized to pre-accredit and accredit institutions offering certificates; diplomas; and associate, baccalaureate, and graduate degrees; including institutions that offer distance education and/or correspondence education. http://tracs.org/index.html (accessed June 25, 2015). (PR)
