Ex-convict found using ‘ice,’ pot again
Justin A. Funkugub, an ex-convict who was slapped in 2012 with a 24-month prison term and placed on supervised release after being convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm, was allegedly found using illegal drugs again and other violations.
U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona summoned Funkugub to appear in court and explain why his supervised release should not be revoked.
Funkugub’s supervised release term began on May 16, 2015, and will expire on Feb. 15, 2018.
Manglona issued the summons after the U.S. Probation Office made the request.
U.S. probation officer Gregory F. Arriola stated in a petition that Funkugub was found using methamphetamine or “ice” last June 17 and using marijuana last June 11.
Funkugub also failed to appear for random drug testing four times and failed to participate in substance abuse counseling sessions six times, Arriola said.
When confronted about the drug test results, Funkugub allegedly admitted using marijuana and “ice.”
Last Feb. 17, Manglona revoked Funkugub’s supervised release for admitting to drug use on multiple occasions and his failure to report for drug testing and counseling sessions. He was ordered to serve three months in prison, followed by a 33-month term of supervised release.
