Fight roster for ROP 17 complete

Two fighters were added to the list with Jones Langu from Red Ants Academy seeing action in one of the three kickboxing matches and WFO’s Frankie Ramangmao having his MMA debut. Langu was the latest addition to ROP 17 that will be held at the Royal Taga Hall of the Saipan World Resort, as he replaced the injured Paul “Showtime” Muna. Langu will challenge Shane “Pikaboo” Alvarez in the third K1 bout that has a catch weight at 135 lbs.
In the first two K1 tiffs, Jayvin “The Prodigy” Santos of Ultimate Martial Arts Guam will collide with Matthew “Might Mouse: Sablan of Red Ants Academy in a 125-lb bout, while at 155 lbs, Jorell “Elusive” Meno of Ultimate Martial Arts Guam will take on Jamaal “The Striker: Mresbang of Team Strikeforce.
Ramangmao will compete in one of the 12 preliminary MMA events after accepting the challenge to duel spitfire Allan “The Silver Bullet” Aguon at 130 lbs.
The Ramangmao-Aguon collision will take place after Leo “The Lion King” Mendiola of Guam and Jay “Bonbon” Camacho of MCAMMA open the MMA action in a 125-lb bout.
The 10 other initial MMA fights in tomorrow night’s ROP 17 will have the following pairings: Tan “Titan” Taisacan of Team Shocker vs Lucas “Irish Zombie” Nutting; Dustin Smith of HBP Guam vs Garry “Dissa” Ray of Pwang; Ray “Faluwasch” Teregeyo of Team Shocker vs Jon “Outlaw” Camacho of Down2Scrap; Peter “Short Fuse” Ayuyu of Tinian vs Frank Quidachay of HBP Guam; independent fighter John Tudela vs Mike Mendiola of HBP Guam; Renz “The Intense” Benghit of Team Intense vs independent Jun Taitingfong; Ethan “Typhoon” Reyes of UMA Guam vs Jordan “The Machine” Manglona of Trench Tech/Zalaka; Rocky “The Rockstar” Quichocho of Guam Muay Thai vs Myron “The Natural” San Nicolas of Trench Tech; Daniel “Flowmotion” Floor vs Vince “The Clinch” Masga of Trench Tech; and Eric “Gatty” Gatman of GMT vs Keith “ K OZ “ Ogo of Team Luta.
For the semi main event, it will be Guam versus Saipan with HBP Guam’s Ernie Santos facing Trench Tech’s Mark “The Dark” Nuique in a 125-lb flyweight super fight. Santos is aiming to extend his streak, as he holds a 3-0 win-loss record, according to Sherdog. He registered his first two wins via submissions in the first round during PXC Live 6 in 2009 (against Dwayne Padua) and PXC Combat 20 in 2010 (against Chad Sholing). His recent recorded victory was logged on Jan. 21, 2011 when he earned a TKO (doctor stoppage) win in the second round against Matt Quenga during the PXC Combat 22.
Sherdog, a website that features MMA and UFC information, listed Nuique’s record at 8-3. The Trench Tech warrior won his first eight bouts and dropped the last three with the recent loss posted just last June 27, 2014 at PXC Combat 44. Nuique bowed to McKlane Alfred via rear-naked choke in the first round.
Meanwhile, Ryan “The Predator” Toves of HBP Guam and Vince “Vincesanity” Pua of Marianas Elite will close out the night with their lightweight title fight.
Pua, who holds a 3-1 record, hopes to make it two in a row against Toves. The Marianas Elite fighter notched a TKO win (slam) over Toves at the 2:47 mark of the first round of their bout in Trech Warz 15: Supremacy on Dec. 26, 2011.
Pua and the 33 other fighters will have their weigh-ins at GIG tonight from 5pm to 7pm.
