Flash flood watch canceled

The U.S. National Weather Service canceled yesterday afternoon the flash flood watch for the CNMI and Guam as Tropical Depression 15W moved further away from Marianas region.

While heavy showers are still possible, widespread heavy rain is no longer expected.

Packing maximum sustained winds of 35 miles per hour, Tropical Depression 15W is moving north at 6mph.

As of 2pm yesterday, the tropical depression’s center was located 415 miles north-northwest of Ulithi, 415 miles north of Yap, 580 miles north-northeast of Koror, 600 miles north-northwest of Guam, and 555 miles west of Saipan.

NWS expects Tropical Depression 15W to steadily strengthen over the next few days and could become a tropical storm later yesterday.
