Registration for the inaugural Triple J Foam & Fun Run 5K is now open and registration forms are available at Triple J Motors, Triple J Five Star/Truckload Wholesale, Hertz Rental in Garapan, and the Triple J/Surf Rider Corporate Office.

Race day is on Sept. 2 and showtime is at 5:15am with gun starts at 6am. The race begins at the now Sakman Guma or the former 4H Building in Susupe. Runners will head toward Quartermaster Road along Beach Road and back to the starting line.

Triple J introduced the event in Guam 12 years ago and decided to bring it to Saipan where they plan to hold it every year.

Two infinite foam machines shooting over 15 feet of colored bubbles will be greeting participants at the finish line. Colored powder will be added in the foam machines to make it doubly fun.

Registration fee is $10 or $35 for a group of four and $15 on race day. The first 1,000 registrants will get free dri-fit race T-shirts.

Medals and other prizes will be given to the overall men’s and women’s champion, and the top finishers in each age group.

The fun run is also a fundraising event where all proceeds with the Commonwealth Cancer Association and Make-A-Wish Foundation as recipients.

There will be free food while raffle prizes will also be given away including the grand prize of one round-trip ticket to anywhere in Asia or Micronesia courtesy of United Airlines.

Organizers are encouraging participants to carpool since parking space is expected to be limited around the venue. Traffic is also expected to build up within the area so motorists and participants are advised to be extra careful.
