The Saipan Pacific Lions Club will be holding a medical mission on Dec. 13, 2020, at the Daidai Social Hall of the Mount Carmel Cathedral. It will provide medical, dental and optical services, among others, to the people of the Northern Mariana Islands.

One of its major services is to provide free prescription eyeglasses for those diagnosed with poor eyesight. Other services that will be available to everyone interested are free medical consultation, dental examination, blood pressure testing, blood sugar/glucose testing, cancer awareness, and general health awareness that will improve and maintain a healthy life.

Alongside with its medical mission, the club, through its officers and members, would also launch and deploy receptacles in various points throughout Saipan where interested individuals could drop off and donate their used eyeglasses and sunglasses. These used eyeglasses would be delivered to regional Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers where volunteers clean, sort by grade, test and package the glasses for distribution under the “Lion Recycle for Sight Program.”

“We would soon announce the place where you can donate or drop off your used eyeglasses,” the club said in a statement. (PR)
