Green Meadow School 8th grader Christian Ted Pamintuan made it to third place at the 47th Annual Scripps Regional Spelling Bee last March 2, 2019, at the Hilton Guam Resort and Spa.

This year, Pamintuan competed with 63 spellers from other schools all over the Marianas.

Pamintuan was 11 years old when he started his Scripps Regional Spelling Bee journey. His first time to become a school spelling bee champion happened when he was in 5th grade and has managed to retain his ranking.

His goal this year was to become the regional champion to represent the CNMI at the nationals in Washington, D.C. and he is already looking forward to joining the National Scripps Spelling Bee next year through the RSVBee Program of the Scripps Spelling Bee. (PR)
