House top vote-getter believes in Inos-Torres

Representative-elect Angel A. Demapan (R-Precinct 1), the top-vote getter amongst all candidates for House of Representatives, strongly believes that an Inos-Torres administration will continue the current upward trend in the Commonwealth’s economy.

“The facts are there and their record of accomplishment tells it like it is,” said Demapan. “Since becoming governor only 21 months ago, the CNMI’s GDP numbers have steadily posted strong signs of economic growth.”

Moreover, Demapan points out that one of the significant reasons why so much progress has been achieved lately is because of the spirit of cooperation being fostered by the administration, the U.S. delegate and the CNMI Legislature.

“As the governor’s press secretary, I’ve had the opportunity to witness first-hand how well Gov. Inos and Senate President Torres have worked with our elected leaders,” said Demapan. “In fact, when the Inos-Torres team was formed, I was even more motivated to run for office under the Republican Party because I felt that this was a leadership we can depend on for our future.”

“The team of Inos-Torres are doing more than talking about their message of hope, they are working hard for all of us today,” he added.

Demapan’s campaign for a House seat zoomed in on the need to develop a comprehensive plan for the establishment of a viable citizen workforce in light of the recent five-year extension of the CW program. This will remain a priority when he joins the 19th Legislature in January.

“We need to develop a strong citizen workforce in order to meet the federal mandates that have been imposed upon the Commonwealth,” stated Demapan. “I believe this is important because the issue of workforce greatly impacts our economy. And with the major uptick in visitor arrivals and the new hotels and resorts that will be constructed, we need to work with all stakeholders, public and private, local and federal, to come up with the most sensible solutions.”

Demapan noted that the Inos-Torres team garnered the overwhelming support of the people in the general election, a strong indication of the public’s confidence in the leadership of Inos and Torres.

“I am so grateful too for the overwhelming support I received from the good people of Precinct 1. So this runoff election, I humbly ask my supporters and the people of the Commonwealth to join me in supporting the team of Inos and Torres. Together, we can continue giving the people the leadership they want and the progress they deserve,” said Demapan. (PR)
