Visiting archaeologist Dr. Rosalind Hunter-Anderson will be the featured guest on this Sunday’s “Your Humanities Half-Hour” radio program.
Hunter-Anderson will discuss a recently completed pilot study to determine the age and composition of ancient Chamorro rock art painted on the walls of the Mahlac Cave in Guam.

Her work was funded by the Guam Preservation Trust.

She will talk about the methods used to identify the composition of the paint used to create the images and how one of the paintings was dated using radiocarbon analyses.

Hunter-Anderson serves as an adjunct professor of anthropology at the University of New Mexico.

Your Humanities Half-Hour, sponsored by the Northern Marianas Humanities Council and hosted by Catherine R. Perry, airs each Sunday afternoon from 2pm to 2:30pm on Power 99.

The show features interviews with scholars, researchers, teachers, and community members on a wide range of humanities topics. (NMI Humanities Council)
