Hunter sues Inos, others over casino law

Activist Glen D. Hunter filed today, Monday, a lawsuit in Superior Court against Gov. Eloy S. Inos, Senate President Ralph DLG. Torres, and several others for allegedly violating the Open Government Act in the passage of the casino law.

Hunter, through counsel Jennifer Dockter, asked the court to issue a judgment declaring that violations of the Open Government Act rendered the casino law null and void.

Hunter asked the court to issue an injunction preventing Inos, the Lottery Commission, and the CNMI government from taking any more acts in furtherance or support of the alleged illegal law.

Last Wednesday, lawyer Ramon K. Quichocho filed in Superior Court a taxpayer’s lawsuit that questioned the constitutionality of the 2-month-old casino law. He is suing Inos, the CNMI government, and the Lottery Commission.

More details to follow.
