Hyatt hosts Run For A Cause

Runners head to the finish line at Micro Beach during the 10K race in this year's Saipan Marathon. Runners will hit the road anew this Saturday for the Hyatt Thrive Run For A Cause.  (Roselyn B. Monroyo)  Hyatt Regency Saipan will be holding the 2012 Run For A Cause this Saturday.

The event will feature half marathon and 10K races. The 21-kilometer (13.1 miles) half marathon will start and end at the Hyatt Regency Saipan at Micro Beach with runners going to as far as the Pacific Islands Club in San Antonio (turning point) through Beach Road. The 10km race (6.21 miles) will also begin and end at Hyatt with a turning point across Hakubotan in Beach Road, just before the San Jose traffic lights.

Entrance fee is only $35 if made on or before June 29. Late registration costs $45, inclusive of entry to the awards banquet at Hyatt. Participants will also be allowed to use Club Elan fitness center and the swimming pool for one day and receive the signature “Run For A Cause” T-shirt.

Check-in time is from 5:15am to 5:45am, as the half marathon will kick off at exactly 6am, while the 10km race will begin at 6:30am.

Interested runners can enter six age group races: 14-and-under, 18-and-under, 19 to 29, 30 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60-and-above. There will be separate prize packages for male and women’s finishers.

The 2012 Run For A Cause is part of Hyatt Thrive’s activities that aimed at raising awareness on health and wellness through promotion of local events, such as this weekend’s race.
