The Saipan Chamber of Commerce has a new vice president.

Chris Concepcion, who was sworn in along with other officers just last January, had to resign from the Chamber’s board and as vice president as he stepped in his position as the new managing director of Marianas Visitors Authority.

According to Chamber president Velma Palacios, Concepcion resigned effective April 15.

To replace Concepcion, Perry Inos Jr. was nominated as the vice president and has accepted that position.

“The board members voted him. I think he will be a good vice president, I mean, he’s new to the board, he brings in new ideas also,” Palacios said.

“I’m very happy that he’s accepted that position,” she added.

To fill in the board of directors position also held by Concepcion, the Chamber’s board voted to invite Ron Smith to serve the remainder of Chris’s term as member of the board which is until December of this year at a meeting last Wednesday. Smith accepted the invitation.

Aside from those mentioned, the Chamber’s lineup of officers and directors are now as follows: Alex Sablan as secretary, Mike Johnson as treasurer, and directors Nida Palconit, Mable Ayuyu, Bud White, and Wayne Gillespie.
