IT&E expands 4G LTE wireless network coverage
Network enhancements help customers meet increasing broadband needs
As part of its efforts to stay ahead of customers’ ever-increasing broadband needs, IT&E yesterday announced that the company has enlarged the coverage area of its 4G LTE wireless network and expanded the capacity of this wireless network throughout the island.
The company stated that it had completed the installation of LTE (high speed data service) at six additional sites located in key locations around the island. This brings the total number of LTE sites to more than a dozen sites and, more importantly, effectively doubles the amount of high-speed data available to IT&E’s wireless customers.
“The increased coverage and the additional network capacity are part of our multi-million dollar investments planned for the CNMI this year,” said John Compton, IT&E’s chief operating officer. “These investments boost reliability, coverage, and speed and provide an enhanced Internet experience for CNMI residents.”.
Compton added that IT&E will be installing at least five more new wireless sites this year and stated that the company’s ongoing project to lay buried fiber optic cable throughout Saipan will continue as well.
“Our employees work very hard every day, and the announcement today is testament to the commitment and dedication that employees have in providing the best possible service to our customers,” said Compton.
