Jealous man allegedly points, shoots common-law wife with air gun
A man was arrested last week for allegedly beating up his common-law wife he accused of having an affair with his relative and pointing and shooting an air gun rifle at her at their residence in As Gonno.
William Sablan Indalecio Jr., 27, was taken to Superior Court yesterday on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, assault, criminal mischief, and disturbing the peace.
Associate Judge David A. Wiseman imposed a $10,000 cash bail and set the preliminary hearing for April 6 at 9am.
Assistant public defender Cindy Nesbit was appointed as counsel for the defendant. Assistant attorney general Betsy Weintraub appeared for the government.
Police Detective Peter A. Aldan stated in his report that the victim reported a domestic violence incident and requested to meet a police officer at the parking lot of Saint Jude Church in Koblerville on Wednesday at 6:35am.
When the officer arrived at the church, the officer noticed that the victim’s hands were shaking, she appeared scared, and then started crying.
The victim told police that earlier that morning, Indalecio accused her of having an affair with his relative. She denied his allegations and covered herself with a blanket to sleep along with their two children—a 1-month infant and a little girl— inside her car at his farm.
Indalecio allegedly pulled her hair, choked her, and threatened he could plunge a knife in her stomach.
Their infant boy was awakened from all the yelling.
Indalecio sat back in the car and pointed an air gun rifle at her forehead when she told him she was leaving him because she’s tired of being beaten up in front of their children.
After feeding the baby, the victim was going to step outside the car to make the infant burp. Indalecio told her to stay in the car and pointed the air gun rifle at her while uttering something.
Indalecio left and started shooting the air gun rifle into the jungle. After 15 minutes, he went back in the car and started apologizing and begging her not to leave him.
When she told him that she was moving her personal belongings to her mother’s house, the defendant choked her again.
He then pointed the air gun rifle at her when she told him she was going to her mother’s house then drop the children to school.
Two weeks ago, Indalecio allegedly choked the victim and grabbed her left inner thigh, and squeezed it, causing a bruise.
As they argued later, he grabbed her arms and squeezed them hard, then ripped her shirt in half. He then apologized. She sustained bruises on the arms and hands.
The victim told police that when she was eight months pregnant with their son, Indalecio shot her with air gun rifle while she was leaving in her car. Of the three shots fired, two struck the driver’s door and one struck the left passenger door.
