The Joeten Kiyu Public Library is renovating several areas of the building to ensure safety and a better-suited environment.

According to JKPL executive director John Gonzales, workers have started renovating the library’s outside premises.

Several workers painted the façade of the library’s entrance and the front stairway.

JKPL technical services librarian Rosalyn Ajoste also noted that several pieces of furniture were added to the library’s lobby.

“We added furniture in the lobby area so that readers can also enjoy the comfort of a couch,” Ajoste said.

The library’s lobby now has couches for readers to use while tables and chairs in the Pacific Collection areas have also been rearranged to create walkthrough space.

In related news, Ajoste is inviting the community to visit the library tomorrow, Saturday, as author Nelson Krum will be holding a book signing for his new book, Disaster at Bushehr.

Krum also held a book signing on Wednesday.
