JSTA kicks off Tourism Month with cleanup

The Japan Saipan Travel Association and its tourism partners kicked off May Tourism Month celebration early with a cleanup in the main tourist district of Garapan on April 26. The semi-annual cleanup came as part of preparations for visitors expected during Japan’s Golden Week holiday and May Tourism Month.

Beginning at 6:30am, 73 volunteers collected trash along the tourist district roadways and beaches from the Carolinian Affairs Office to Micro Beach. Participating groups were Marianas Visitors Authority, Tasi Tours, Mode Tour, C.O.U., Capricciosa Restaurant, Tony Roma’s, Peace Divers, PMT, Fiesta Resort & Spa, Sea Shore, Truong’s Restaurant, Aqua Connections Inc., MSC / NMDOA, Watabe, Dolphin Brain, NTA, Marianas Trekking, Good Care, Pau Pau Tours, PDI, Hana Tour, Aqua Resort Club, Sealovers Saipan, Itoshuko, and Saipan Stevedore.

In celebration of Tourism Month, the MVA’s signature event Taste of the Marianas International Food Festival & Beer Garden kicked off on March 3 at American Memorial Park. The event will be held every Saturday this month. (MVA)
