Jurors enter 2nd week of deliberations in Roberto’s trial
The 12 jurors are expected to resume their deliberations today, Monday, in the case against Raymond B. Roberto, a 41-year-old man who is on trial for three counts of enticing three minors to engage in prostitution and one count of witness tampering.
U.S. District Court for the NMI designated judge David A. Wiseman ordered the jurors on Wednesday to return today at 8am to continue their deliberations.
Wiseman was assigned to the case as U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona, who presided over the trial, is off-island, Saipan Tribune learned.
Before excusing the jurors, Wiseman gave instructions to the jurors and read them a portion of the final jury instructions.
The jurors began deliberating last Sept. 15.
Roberto is a former acting director of the Division of Fish and Wildlife.
