The Lady Eagles flew above the erstwhile undefeated Queens of Diamonds 17-1, via mercy-run rule in the fourth inning during the women’s division game of the 2022 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association League last Sunday at the Dandan Softball Field.

The Queens of Diamonds have fallen like a deck of cards for their first loss since the start of the league, snapping their five-game winning streak.

With this win, the Lady Eagles are at 3-3 and the Queens of Diamonds are now 5-1.

The battle-ready Lady Eagles brought their A game against the royal powerhouse that is the Queens of Diamonds and put up 10 runs against them in just the second inning.

The Queens were unfortunately unable to retaliate as they only put up one run in the first inning courtesy of Rachel Salalila.

The Lady Eagles put up five more runs in the third inning to widen the lead, 15-1, with the Queens looking at the loss of their winning streak just around the corner.

Allana Sumang brought in the most RBIs for the Lady Eagles with three in the game. Additionally, Clare Mabel and Jay Arriola came up with two RBIs a piece.

The Queens’ lineup was shut down by the Lady Eagles’ pitcher, handing them six strikeouts and only five hits.

It was all over for the Queens in the fourth inning when they came up empty after the Lady Eagles were able to put up two more runs to secure the win, 17-1.

Results of the men’s division games will be published in tomorrow’s issue of Saipan Tribune.
