Las Vegas Night funds go to Rotary playground
2019 KIA Mirage is jackpot of the night
The 2018 Las Vegas Night of the Saipan Rotary Club next month features a 2019 model Kia Mirage as its grand prize.
Other raffle cash prizes include either a $10,000 grand prize or a new car, $3,000, $2,000, $1,000, and $500, plus several other door prizes that comes with the purchase of a ticket for the event.
Tickets to the event go for $5 each and $20 per booklet, which contains five tickets. Those interested in getting tickets to the event may do so at Megabyte, the Northern Marianas Protection and Advocacy Systems Inc., at the McDonald’s headquarters in Dandan, or from any Rotary Club member.
According to Rotary Club of Saipan president Greg Borja, the 2018 Las Vegas Night would be held at the Saipan World Resort Royal Taga Hall on Nov. 17, 2018. The event features a casino-like party complete with raffle draws.
It will also be the Rotary Club’s 50th year anniversary celebration.
Borja said they are still looking for volunteers to be dealers or take on other roles.
He said funds raised from the event would be used for the down payment of a playground project the local Rotary Club is looking to build that is also accessible to individuals with disabilities.
“We are trying to raise funds this year to at least get a downp ayment to purchase a playground we can set up…at Sugar King Park,” he said. “We would also use the funds for our exchange programs for our youth.”
Borja is referring to the annual district conferences, which are typically held in Japan. This year, the Rotary is looking to send them to Guam.
