Leak detection crew moves to Garapan

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. is informing businesses and residents in Garapan, from Beach Road to Coral Tree Avenue between Orchid Street and Micro Beach Road, that the CNMI Water Task Force Leak Detection and Repair Project has moved to these areas beginning yesterday, June 30.

Crews will be working in these areas and areas previously noticed. The work will continue until the project is completed. CUC anticipates the project to be finished by Oct. 1, 2014. Crews will be isolating lines to detect leaks, replacing valves and hydrants, and repairing leaks. The project work may mean residents will experience temporary water outages, temporary cloudy or discolored water in the lines, and changes in pressure. This inconvenience is necessary to identify and repair leaks that will lead to improve water service and lower water cost.

CUC recommends that motorist exercise caution when driving through the construction sites.
