The CNMI Liberation Day Festival team gathered their volunteers in preparation for the opening of the carnival on Friday. The carnival will be held at the Garapan Fishing Base from June 10 to  July 9, 2016.

Event organizers made a run-through of the activities that will be held during the festival. The volunteers we’re asked to try out the games to ensure safety and authenticity. They were taught how some of the games will be offered during the carnival.

“The games are simple, the volunteers would assist carnival goers that are going to play,” said volunteer committee head Levonne Pangelinan.

All volunteers—who are now more than 60—will be assisting in the concessions booth, entertainment, and the Liberation Day Royal Court.

Organizers also invited volunteers who are interested in photography to attend a 30-minute beginner course at 4pm today at the Marianas Business Plaza.

They also invited several who are into writing to join them in a creative writing workshop at 3pm on Thursday at the carnival grounds with Pangelinan and other members of her committee going through the games again at 4pm.

Pangelinan is requesting all volunteers to be at the Carnival grounds at 5pm.

The Liberation Day committee is inviting everyone to join them in this year’s festivities, which has a theme “Our Island, Our Heritage.”

Take part in the colorful parade of floats on July 4 with the winning entry going home with $4,000. Food, drinks, games, entertainment, and a $10,000 raffle prize awaits everyone at the 2016 Liberation Festival.
