Chef Zenn Tomokane, executive sous chef at the Crowne Plaza, said that “Ataari is the Carolinian word for “a sumptuous entertainment or meal for many guests”.

Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan general manager Robert Coates said it’s exciting that the dinner show is now open for local residents and tourists.

“We are thrilled to open ATAARI Dinner show on Wednesday, Feb. 1. It’s a fun action-packed evening for all to dine on a wonderful dinner buffet and enjoy the beautiful music and dance of the islands. We’re looking forward to welcoming local residents and visitors to join in the fun of ATAARI Dinner Show.”

Coates added in an interview after the pre-opening of the dinner show on Monday, Jan. 30, that he is grateful for guests who came out, including the tour agencies from the Korean and Japanese market, along with some local residents.

He also thanked the entertainers and the hosts in the band. “They’re a great group of people, a lot of fun, very flexible, very engaging, and so they were great. And of course, big thanks to the [Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan] team for putting the night on too. They’ve worked very hard to get the dinner show ready to open. It’s been a big job.”

“So we’re up and running, it was a lot of work behind the scenes, and it’s great to be open,” he said.

As an international hotel and brand, Coates said that it’s important for Saipan to position itself out there in the international markets and with the dinner show, it’s one component to attract more international visitors.

Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan is a 422-room hotel located in Garapan. Guests will be greeted by the resort’s lush tropical gardens and panoramic view of Micro Beach, with Crowne Plaza’s warm and friendly hospitality ensuring a seamless arrival.
