Makalaro Lang eases past foe
Makalaro Lang picked up where it left off to waltz past Hard Kulangot, 74-61, in their game in the 2015 Blue Haus/IT&E Inter-Color Basketball League last Sunday at the Navy Hill court.
Makalaro Lang and Hard Kulangot played the continuation of their rained-out match last Aug. 1 with the former turning a 40-31 halftime lead to a double-digit spread in the second half behind Ivan Devero and Errol Peredo.
Peredo and Devero, who combined for 28 of Makalaro Lang’s total output in the first 20 minutes of play kept going in the final frame to lift their team to the 13-point winning margin in their debut in the inaugural league. Hard Kulangot also played its first match in the Blue Haus and IT&E-backed caging that was suspended for more than two weeks after Typhoon Soudelor struck Saipan.

Wag Kang Pabebe and Purple Rain also saw action in the nine-team league for the first time last Sunday with the former easing its way past the latter, 67-50.
Brendon Talania and Christian Devero proved to be too much for Purple Rain as the duo scored more than half of Wag Kang Pabebe’s total output. Talania sizzled for a game-high 29 points, while Devero chipped in 18, as they nearly outgunned the entire Purple Rain crew.
The Wag Kang Pabebe’s 1-2 punch alternately hit baskets for their team, which established an early double-digit advantage at halftime, 29-17, to set up the easy win. In the second half, Purple Rain could not find the antidote to Wag Kang Pabebe’s scoring duo, allowing the latter to complete a lopsided win.
With the victory, Wag Kang Pabebe and Makalaro Lang joined Pasion de Amor in the win column. Pasion de Amor has the early lead in the lead following its back-to-back triumphs last Saturday against Kidlat, 73-69, and Red Rice.
