Man who sexually assaulted minor sentenced to prison

A man who is accused of touching a minor’s buttocks pleaded guilty to the allegations and was sentenced to six months imprisonment.

Roland Joseph Sablan, 52, pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a minor Wednesday and was given six months imprisonment, all suspended except for 30 days that he is ordered to serve without possibility of parole. Sablan was also given credit for one day.

During a change of plea hearing Wednesday, Sablan was given the opportunity to explain his side of the story. Sablan told the court that he only pinched the girl’s buttocks.

Sablan will be placed on probation for a year and required to pay fines and perform 80 hours of community service.
