Military trainings set

ASAN, Guam—The U.S. Air Force will conduct live fire exercises in Warning Area 13 and Farallon de Medinilla on Aug. 17-21 from 8am to 5:30pm. Marine vessels are advised to remain clear 12 nautical miles around

Farallon de Medinilla for the duration of the event and to monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast Notice to Mariners for advisories.

The U.S. Navy will conduct live fire exercises in open ocean on Aug. 17-20, from 1pm to 11:55pm at the following coordinates: 13˚26”N/145˚08”E, 13˚42”N/144˚36”E. Marine vessels are advised to remain clear of the area for the duration of the event and to monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast Notice to Mariners for advisories. 

The U.S. Navy will conduct training in the vicinity of Agat Bay and Outer Apra Harbor on the following dates and times:

Aug. 17 and 20, from 1pm to 11:55pm

Aug. 18-19, from 1pm to 12:30am

Simulated ammunition will be used in this training. The public should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity and are requested to remain clear of units in the area for the duration of this event.

The U.S. Navy will conduct training in Dandan-Malojloj and Radio Barrigada on Aug. 17, from 1pm to 11:55pm. Residents of surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity due to the training. 

The U.S. Navy will conduct training in Dandan-Malojloj and Radio Barrigada on Aug. 18 from 1pm to 11:55pm. Simulated ammunition will be used in this training. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity. 

The U.S. Navy will conduct live fire training at Naval Magazine on Aug. 18, from 9am to 3pm.  Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity due to the training. 

The U.S. Army will conduct training in Radio Barrigada on the following dates and times: 

– Aug. 19-20, from 8am to 5pm

-Aug. 21-23, from 8am to 10am 

Blank ammunition will be used in this training. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity.

The U.S. Coast Guard will conduct live fire exercises on Aug. 19 in Warning Area 517, from 10am to 4pm. Marine vessels are advised to remain clear of Warning Area 517 for the duration of the event and to monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast Notice to Mariners for advisories.

These trainings support readiness and are critical to developing the skills needed to respond to operational missions throughout the region to ensure a stable, free, and open Indo-Pacific. (PR)
