MRE to install 1st solar service with battery backup
Micronesia Renewable Energy, Inc., a locally owned renewable energy company, and partner Sunnova, a world leader in solar service, will introduce residential solar service agreements to homeowners on Saipan with battery storage.
MRE will be showcasing the first CNMI home with installed solar with battery storage at the home of Matias Chargualaf along Chalan Tun Antonio Apa Road in Finasisu this Friday, Jan. 27, 10am.
Tracy Voacolo, CEO of MRE, stated, “We are very excited about this launch with Sunnova. Not only can we offer solar energy with zero money down using the Sunnova solar service agreement but offering this same agreement with battery storage is monumental.”
Saipan just experienced a major typhoon with damaging winds of over 15mph. The average homeowner was without power for over 48 days because of the more than 200 power poles destroyed by the typhoon.
Now with the convergence of energy storage and renewable energy by Outback Power Technologies, the leader in battery technology in the industry, it is the perfect pairing for the island community of Saipan.
“Sunnova aspires to bring solar service to homeowners across the nation and is thrilled to be the first solar service company providing battery storage on Saipan with the help of Micronesia Renewable Energy, Inc. and Outback power,” chief marketing officer Jordan Frugé said.
With the ever-increasing cost of energy, homeowners can finally use solar energy and battery storage to save money, reduce their carbon footprint, and have power even when utility power is not available. Ribbon cutting and open house on the first solar energy system with battery storage on Saipan
