HAGÅTÑA, Guam—Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo yesterday issued the following statement on the passing of former First Lady of the United States, Nancy Reagan.

“I am saddened to learn of the passing of former First Lady Nancy Reagan,” said Bordallo. “Mrs. Reagan was a champion of efforts to reduce drug use throughout the United States and a firm advocate for treatments and a cure to Alzheimer’s. I remember when President and First Lady Reagan visited Guam during my husband’s second term as Governor in 1982. Ricky and I were honored to host them and share with them more about Guam and our people. I fondly remember Nancy sharing with me how beautiful she saw Guam and the warm impression our island made on her. I join our nation and the people of Guam in mourning her loss. My thoughts and prayers are with her family,” she said.
