NMC 6th Annual Health Fair this Saturday

To increase awareness about healthy lifestyle habits and practices, the Northern Marianas College’s Nursing Club is inviting members in the community to the 6th Annual Health Fair this Saturday, April 11, 2015, from 8am to 1pm at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe.

The Health Fair is also supported with the assistance of Subway/Foremost, Let’s Move Marianas Campaign, the College Access Challenge Grant, Area Health Education Center, the Division of Public Health, and the Office of the Dean of Student Services.

Health Fair activities will run from 8am until 1pm and will also feature a 5K Walk starting at 7am. The first 20 participants who finish the 5K Walk will also receive T-shirt prizes. Entrance to the Health Fair and the 5K Walk is free.

In addition to the exhibits, there will be games and information booths, as well as free immunizations, screenings for blood pressure, height and weight, and blood glucose. There will also be various presentations and fitness classes from organizations like the Let’s Move Marianas and Uncle Ben’s Music and Dance Studio. The American Red Cross will be also demonstrating CPR techniques.
