The Northern Marianas College Foundation is encouraging all golfers to participate in this Saturday’s 13th NMC Foundation Open Golf Tournament.

The event is part of the Foundation’s efforts to help advance post secondary education in the CNMI and will be held on west course of the Laolao Bay Golf Resort.

The NMC Foundation is composed of community volunteers committed to the advancement of opportunities in support of higher education for students in the CNMI. The golf tournament is the NMC Foundation’s signature event that raises funds to support NMC’s academic programs and services.

“On behalf of the NMC Foundation, I would like to thank all past supporters for their investment in our community. I call upon the same supporters as well as other members of this great community to contribute to our one and only community college in helping students achieve their goal of obtaining a degree in higher education,” said NMC Foundation president Mary Tenorio. “All proceeds will go to the NMC Foundation, which is charged with the mission of supporting our great community college.”

The tournament will have a shotgun start at 7am and will follow a medal play format. There will be six separate flight categories: Championship, A, B. C, Seniors, and Ladies.

Tournament prizes for first place are $500, $300 for second, $200 for third in each of the six flights. Hole-in-one prizes include a $5,000 donation by Pacifica Insurance, 2 round trip tickets worth over $4,000 to Japan and the U.S. sponsored by Delta Airlines and a brand new 2016 Mazda 3 Hatchback sponsored by Triple J Motors.
