No major damage, NMC Saipan, Tinian resume classes today

The Northern Marianas College opens its offices on Saipan and Tinian today, Wednesday, Oct. 23, with classes resuming as scheduled.

Preliminary assessments show that the college sustained no major damage from Typhoon Bualoi. NMC immediately went to work with repairs and other cleanup activities, shortly after the typhoon.

NMC told its students and staff to communicate with their instructors and supervisors if they need more time to recover.

The college is also advising everyone to exercise caution, given the residual inclement weather from the typhoon.

“We will ask everyone to extend additional flexibility to help students and employees who need additional time or assistance,” as stated in NMC’s advisory.

NMC Saipan, Tinian, and Rota were closed Monday and Tuesday due to the threat of Bualoi. Its Rota campus reopened yesterday, following the “All Clear” declaration for the island by the CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency.
