OAG says Ogumoro threatened, intimidated witness

The Office of the Attorney General alleged yesterday that former Department of Public Safety deputy commissioner Ambrosio T. Ogumoro, who is on trial on corruption charges, threatened and intimidated a witness over the weekend.

Assistant attorney general Matthew Baisley urged Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo, who is presiding over the jury trial, to revoke Ogumoro’s bail and admit his intimidation of William “Bill” Rathburn as “evidence of consciousness of guilt.”

Rathburn is a former DPS information technology network administrator who testified for the government that on October 2012 Ogumoro picked him up from his house to check a DPS computer. He said he was shocked when Ogumoro instead brought him to True North Bar in Garapan, where the DPS computer was inside the bar’s office.
