Our perilous election

Take a moment and think about the words to The Star Spangled Banner.

Can you remember them? It begins with “Oh say can you see?”

If you knew the true facts, and applied them to what’s happening today, you might possibly be moved by what they revealed.

Francis Scott Key, who penned the words to our national anthem, was onboard a ship not far from Baltimore, out in Chesapeake Bay, watching the “perilous fight” at Fort McHenry.

The British ships were furiously bombarding the fort, and the ragtag American army bravely fought, and held the ground.

However, what mattered most to Mr. Key was that our flag, “Old Glory”: should not be destroyed, nor be shot down by the British. The Stars and Stripes must, above all, be preserved.

Despite the furious onslaught, our tattered little flag still bravely flew from its mast.

In the end, the British forces withdrew, Fort McHenry was saved, and another step toward the preservation of our fragile nation was taken.

This occurred during the war of 1812, perhaps our least-known, but most important, war. It was important because the United States was now a nation, and under siege from the British—still smarting from defeat some 30 years earlier.

The British set fire to the White House and President Madison (all five feet of him) took to his horse and purposefully rode to instill courage in our troops. He was a brave and unsung hero, that Madison.

But the war didn’t end there. It continued through 1814, when well-drilled British troops attacked New Orleans. These were the same troops who would later fight Napoleon at Waterloo and win.

However, under the command of General Andrew Jackson, our troops whipped the Brits.

All the more astonishing was that ordinary citizens and Native Americans stood shoulder-to-shoulder in defense of our young nation. If we ever became a nation of diversity under peril, it was during that fight.

Few were trained militia; most were ordinary hunters with guns and untrained as soldiers. But they could shoot squirrels; and if they could shoot a squirrel, a British conscript in a red coat was not much of a challenge.

The United States won the war of 1812, and Key’s poem later became the words to our national anthem. We won the war of 1812 and our flag is still fluttering aloft on thousands of flagpoles.

However, today we have another “perilous fight.”

It is not as clear-cut as the War of 1812, but far more dangerous to our republic. It is dangerous because all could be lost to our enemies—both foreign and domestic.

There are many souls who dearly love the United States and what it represents: freedom and opportunity for all.

But it’s not that simple.

In fact, much of what has gone on in our recent history has been shrouded in secrecy; so much so that the average person is unaware at how deep and pervasive it is. And, if you’re unaware of the truth, it’s because you’re not supposed to know it.

I will forego the details of many national tragedies; that is, the JFK assassination and those of RFK and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

What was not reported, however, was the Israeli attack on our USS Liberty, nor of the sailors who died in the attack. Nor was the Iran/Contra affair, where guns and drugs were exchanged under the cloak of secrecy. Few know the real truth behind the 1993 attack on the WTC, nor of the bombings at the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. It’s a long list, including what truly happened on 9/11.

Regardless of your personal feelings about these incidents, they all occurred and they were witnessed by ordinary people.

Now we are on the eve of the most important presidential election ever held in the USA. Our country is at stake; and the forces of darkness (responsible for many of the incidents listed above) may prevail.

What makes this election particularly worrisome is that, within the U.S. government, the Department of Justice, the Department of State, and many political leaders in the legislative and executive branches of government, are complicit. Even worse, they are virtually immune from prosecution.

In other words, the fix was in; and the fix has been in through several administrations.

And yet all is not lost.

The House of Representatives has begun to issue subpoenas against those who refused to testify, and a subpoena cannot be ignored. As well, several representatives have put a number of people on the hotseat, including Hillary Clinton, Loretta Lynch and James Comey. They can’t ignore a congressional subpoena and they can’t take the Fifth.

Here comes Donald Trump

Regardless of what you think of him personally, he represents a clean break with business-as-usual. He is not beholden to special interests, to lobbyists, nor to Wall Street. He speaks his own truth—sometimes too arrogantly—but he’s not a puppet for the globalists (George Soros, the Rockefellers, the Rothschilds, and the Bilderberg Society) the way many officials are. Because there’s money on the table, and a lot of it.

In case you missed it, our government has been bought and paid for by outside interests, often by Mrs. Clinton’s Department of State, via the Clinton Foundation. Billions were taken in, often for “access” to important people.

Yet, if Mr. Trump is elected, there’s no way to know if he would be a good president.

Many had high hopes for Barack Obama, who took office in 2009. His presidency has been a disaster; and he alone is to blame for the millions of illegal aliens pouring into our country and for the racial destabilization of many U.S. cities. It’s as though President Obama wants the USA destroyed—by enemies, foreign and domestic.

That is why this election is so important.

It has been widely reported that a Clinton presidency would be tantamount to “Obama’s third term” and that there would be war with Russia, and that Syrian and Somali refugees would continue to enter the U.S. in droves.

If the union is to be preserved, Trump is our only hope. Hillary and her cohorts in government went over to the dark side long ago. She must not be elected.

To be fair, I watched the first presidential debate, and Mrs. Clinton did pretty well. I have a grudging admiration for her ability to speak.

But I just don’t trust her.

  1. You can count on our nation being gone… sunk… Ka-put if Hillary and her liberal cabal gets elected.

And I cannot agree with you more in regard to the current inhabitant of the white house. I cannot think of a president who has done more damage to our nation than Barack Hussein Obama. The man is an abomination. His primary legacy will be one of dead Americans… Americans killed in their own homeland by foreign invaders invited into this nation by Obama and supported with our tax dollars. Our middle class has been gutted. Our military, hobbled. We now have a 233 ship navy – Down from near 600 under Reagan. Race relations have not been worse since the days of Jim Crow.

I’m not sure if Trump will make a good president. I am 100% positive Hillary will be an outright disaster. Pray.. no, VOTE (if you can)… for an end to the liberal virus that has laid our proud nation low.

      1. Greatness is shared only by a few who possess the trait! Go Trump and restore USA like we the few do! Thank you Russ,

        1. You’re welcome Chamoru First. Regardless of our disagreements, we’re all in this together and have to make the best of it.

    1. You can’t stand to see a black man as President of the United States of America and mind you, he got elected for two terms by great many white Americans. You just cannot accept that fact, ha? So sad sad, indeed!

      1. Funny, dooooooosh, I don’t see one reference to being black in my post. Those references are yours. My issues are with policy and performance. And, make no mistake, when sorry ‘tailed’ liberals such as yourself have absolutely zero, nada, ZIP issues to stand on, you take out the race card. So typical. Pathetic.

        1. Read you comment above where you said, “I’m a racist”, how quickly you forget? Are you having difficulties remembering? For a lame duck President, Obama’s high approval rating in the recent national poll sort of plastering mud over your senses? I didn’t take out the race card, YOU did. Having nothing good to say, better to apply crazy glue to permanently seal the troublesome opening above your shoulder.

      2. Oh… I forgot… I voted for this POS president not once, but twice. MY HUGE MISTAKE. The race card… taken out by those with absolutely no legs to stand on. Right!!! I’m a racist.

You liberals simply cannot stand that others may have differing points of view. WHOLLY INTOLERANT.

  2. Different folks different strokes, I’m one of the folks who has a different over all assessment of Clinton being a better person for America as its President versus Trump. Across the spectrum, listening to comments of support for Clinton from people of intellectual and professional stature,a great many of them are prominent and registered Republicans, all looking at Clinton as the hope to Making America Great Again. The scientific community, academia, retired high ranking military officers, retired high ranking CIA officials, prominent GOP politicians both state and national(great many) and the list goes on, are all showing public support for Clinton. Trump can’t even speak good English; his sentence structure are called dangling at best, let alone he wrote a book himself and claiming to be a best seller. It could be the text book students from Trump University were using paying a fee of six digit figure for a worthless trumpcated real estate course focusing in getting rich; one wonders what sort of degree award one would ended up earning upon graduation?

    1. Some good and valid points. In my view, Hillary would be another puppet in the White House. That wouldn’t be the case with Trump. But, as I said, nobody knows if he would be any good as president. This whole situation is a stinky mess.

      1. How could you really say, that Clinton would be another puppet in the White House, when there are tons of alert eyes and brains for check and balance so to speak? I agree with you both of them have a litany of shortcomings, but, we can’t simply overlook the degree of support coming from across a wide spectrum of American voters. Both Republican and Democrat could have nominated a more palatable candidates, but that’s how American political machinery works. And you know that, right?

        1. Where were the checks and balances on Obamacare? On the millions of undocumented aliens flooding up through Mexico?

The nastiness began long ago when Bush was VP and ran drugs into Arkansas, with Governor Clinton. They made a ton of money. They are also protected by Big Money, the Rothschilds.

If you ever read some of the emails from Hillary to Mrs. Rothschild, Clinton is like a subservient little girl.

Many of our political leaders are bought and paid for by special interests. This is nothing new.

          The fix is, unfortunately, in.

          1. If ObamaCare is proven so bad as talked about by GOP’s in the national level of both House and Senate, why is it then that a GOP grand version about national health care is not crafted and passed in the U.S. Congress since both Houses are GOP controlled? Poor excuse for blaming a veto by President Obama as GOP can muster a second “override”, just like the record first (911 victims suing Saudi Arabia) Bill that was recently vetoed and overridden. Just admit that the GOP has NO concrete health plan of their own version to REPLACE ObamaCare period. Only noises loud enough to fool some folks.

          2. Obamacare was designed to crash & burn so that it could be replaced by a single payer system. The single payer, of course, will be the federal government. Isn’t that great! Free healthcare paid for by the federal government. Unfortunately, not everyone will be able to access this free service because of rationing. Use your imagination to determine who gets refused by death panels or who gets to the front of the line for various procedures.

          3. So, you knew all along that ObamaCare was designed to crash and burn. Are you now saying you were part of the conspiracy which added toxic phrases into the law to self-destruct after so many years, right? And that you would have it replaced by a single payer system, all paid premium by the federal government.

          4. No, I didn’t know that the affordable health care act would fail. I, like most of congress, did not read the legislation. Using 20/20 hindsight vision it’s obvious that Obama care is imploding and will be replaced with a single payer system if Hillary is elected, (in my opinion).
Personally, I would not want a healthcare system run by the federal government. Dr. Ben Carson has a good plan that we could look into, (IMO).

Good to hear from you. Even though we disagree, I enjoy the exchange of ideas. Keep on writing.

          5. Neither party has distinguished itself with leadership. Only recently Trey Gowdy and other congressmen are holding hearings and asking tough questions. But it’s a pale showing, unfortunately. Obama is the king and will probably remain so.

    1. Notice how you approach someone with a diametrically opposed viewpoint.. With respect.

Now look at the Liberals…. Insult. Attack. Degrade. Denigrate. These people are a cancer.

  3. In his notorious book, Rules For Radicals, (dedicated to Lucifer) Saul Alinsky wrote that there are 8 levels of control that must be met in order to achieve a social state. They are as follows: 1. Healthcare. Control health care you control the people. 2. Poverty. Increase poverty as much as possible. 3. Debt. Increase debt to unsustainable levels leading to increased taxes & more poverty. 4. Gun control. For obvious reasons. 5. Welfare. Govt takes control of every aspect of life. 6. Education & media. Censorship, (Micheal Savege for one) & common core. 7. Religion. Become Godless. 8. Class warfare

Does any of this sound familiar? It should, progressive liberals have been doing this for the past 100 years. Now it seems to be on the fast track

    1. It was recently revealed that Hillary Clinton’s term paper (or other major academic offering) was based on Saul Alinsky. Wouldn’t surprise me if Obama was following the same manifesto.

You raised some very good points Ray. Thanks for the insights.

  4. The media, politicians and lawyers can all spin tales. I find it interesting that the main reason pollers claim to be voting is not becuase they like either candidate but it is because they “are afraid” of what the other one will do if in power. Hillary is clearly a more practiced and polished speaker and doesn’t bat an eyelash at being caught out in a lie or by switching sides mid-sentence. Every syllable is planned as either a barb to hurt or a distraction. She doesn’t have and answer for why she hasn’t done anything significant in 30 years because she never intended to she simply wants more $$$$ and more power. Trump brags a bit too much and gets angry when he thinks something is unfair or wrong. He tries to fight back and argue his side and blusters and calls names. He thinks people should want the best for everyone and tries to mediate. Who would I rather be the judge in my court? TRUMP

  5. There is an old saying: Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. Once again, the conservatives seem to have short memories. Just eight years ago American was in financial collapse due to a Republican administration’s complete failure to manage the economy. Banks were closing, as was the American auto industry. Today, America is back on the road to recovery and those businesses are back in operation, thanks to Democratic Party fiscal policy — ending the war in Iraq, cutting the bloated military budget and focusing available cash on education, research and development.

The same was true at the end of Reagan — George senior era, deficit spending for military excursions, with funding for education down. Then came eight years of Bill Clinton’s administration ending with a surplus budget for the first time. If Jebb Bush had not fixed the Florida election, Al Gore would have maintained Clinton’s fiscal policy. Instead, we got George Jr., a war in Iraq, thousands of body bags bringing home dead Americans, and an eight year economic tailspin

If the Democrats win this November, then the economy will continue to grow.

On the other hand, if the Republicans win, especially with a loose cannon like Trump at the helm, we will be back at war within weeks and the economy will tumble into shambles again. If that war happens to be in the Pacific Rim — South Korea, China, Southeast Asia — then it will be the end of our tourist economy and “national security” issues will negate 902.

Obama-care, as the conservative call it, can be fixed. A war cannot.

    1. Hi Don – Sorry you didn’t show up at Ken’s house a while back. I am sure we would have had a merry time. We disagree about almost everything, but that’s fine. What a boring world we would have if we all were in agreement about everything.

  6. I find it laughable that anyone would think that the GOP would be good for America, let alone Donald Trump. Also the fact that people are bringing conspiracy stories too makes me laugh even harder. The ominous “they”. The “elite”. Why do you old people believe in such nonsense? There is no elite in control of the world. The truth of the matter is that no one has ever been in control. We are all in a wild ride with no one at the helm. That is the scary truth that you old farts can’t handle. Control is an illusion.

We live in the greatest of times. Even the poorest among us lives better than kings of old. Practically everyone is in possession of a super computer. Knowledge and information is practically overflowing in the cyber world. You can learn to do almost anything online nowadays.

Yet despite this all you can complain about is the insignificant nonproblems that pop up every now and then. Talk about being blind to the infinite blessings that surround us all.

    1. You may be right – that there is no elite. Maybe the Rothschilds (worth $500 trillion), who own every bank in the world (except for one in North Korea), along with the Federal Reserve banking system are just a myth. Maybe the Rockefellers and the Bilderberg Society are myths also.

If you want really powerful, try Kim Kardashian.

    2. People with “small knowledge” like yourself is said to be a danger to human society, believing that he has all the answers in his tiny head, moreover with the consumption of toxic flakka. Everything that appears in the surroundings appears unreal as the poison does its job All proven historical data are garbage illusions for him and only himself makes sense. A mind like yourself is far superior than the tiny brain of an ant.

  7. pafao,

I’m a bit confused. I do not see in any of my posts accusations of you saying Obama care was designed to crash & burn. Yes, I said it. I suspected there would be bad things in it, but didn’t know for sure. Now I do. It is failing miserably. Deplorable old farts like myself pay attention to this stuff.

Now, lets see if you can respond without name calling.

    1. The U.S Congress of both Houses are GOP controlled why not craft and pass a health care bill to replace Obamacare if it is considered so bad and failing so miserably. If the President exercised his veto power, then both Houses can muster an override just like the Bill which allowed those 911 victims’ family to sue Saudi Arabia. I suspect the GOP doesn’t have any of their own version period. Glad to to be conversing with one of Trump’s “deplorable old fart”. I didn’t say the last 3 words, YOU did!

      1. I have to admit, you are 100% correct! The GOP should’ve come up with a better plan of their own, or blocked Obama care. They did neither. May I suggest that you check into Dr. Ben Carson’s plan? He just might have something that will work.

By the way, I’m not that old. I still play basketball and beat up on the young guys, (of course I cheat).
