Peleliu, Brotherhood still on top
A Brotherhood-Peleliu finals showdown is slowly shaping up in the 2017 Belau Masters Men’s Softball League after both teams dispatched their respective rivals in contrasting fashion last Sunday at the Dandan Softball Field.
Brotherhood hardly broke a sweat in winning by default against Sufa, while Peleliu made short work of Momma Charu, 14-3, to remain tied on top of the standings both with 12-1 slates. Momma Charu dropped to 8-5.
Mabel Ngirngemelas led Peleliu’s hit parade going perfect at the plate, 3-for-3, with two runs including a home run and three RBIs, while Rush Kintaro went 2-for-2 on a homer and a double with two runs and two RBIs.
Dominic Hideo and Charles Kenty each went 2-for-3 with the former scoring twice on two doubles and an RBI, while the latter had one run and two RBIs.
In the other games, Kani completed a 24-12 decision against Red Torch, while Asahi’s match against the S.A. Masters was rained out and will be scheduled at a later date.
Taylor Germance showed why he is the current home run king and RBI leader in Kani’s win. He finished 3-for-4 with three runs and blasting his 14th home run in the season and had three RBIs to hike his record to 43.
Dominic Masaharu went perfect with a 4-for-4 stint at the plate with three runs, a double, and three RBIs.
