PHI continues to coordinate with CHCC
PHI Pharmacy continues to coordinate with the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. to provide proper patient care for the community.
In a statement from Joshua Wise, general manager of PHI Pharmacy, the pharmacy has been renewed for at least a year with options to renew up to a total of five years, given that CHCC and PHI have reached an agreement on the lease after every year.
With the renewed lease, PHI Pharmacy would be staying at the Commonwealth Health Center to further serve the patients in need of pharmaceuticals.
“There are two outpatient pharmacies in CHC now, and the thing we are trying to avoid the most is confusion,” said Wise in an interview.
Wise explained that because there are now two pharmacies at CHC, patients could easily mistake one pharmacy for the other and possibly not get the prescription medicine they need.
“…Sometimes the prescription medicine is not there, so there is this confusion with patients on which pharmacy to go to,” Wise said.
According to Wise, today would be the care transition meeting, where PHI and CHCC officials meet to discuss issues pertaining to the transition of care for patients.
“That is kind of where those particular topics come up, so I would be discussing that with them [today],” he said, referring to the possible confusion of having two outpatient pharmacies.
“[The meeting is for] making sure [patients] are taken care of when they are discharged and making sure patients aren’t confused where to get their medicine is something we can help to clarify,” Wise added. “We will work with CHCC on a system to combat confusion.”
