Probable cause found to charge gas station rob suspect
Superior Court Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio on Friday found probable cause to warrant the filing of charges against one of two ex-convicts accused of robbing a Mobil gas station in Chalan Piao.
At a preliminary hearing, Kim-Tenorio found that the Office of the Attorney General presented sufficient evidence to establish probable cause that Christopher M. Igisomar committed the offenses of robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, disturbing the peace, and two counts of theft. The judge ordered the 32-year-old Igisomar to answer the charges.
Chief public defender Douglas Hartig served as counsel for Igisomar. Assistant attorney general Chemere McField represented the government.
Igisomar’s co-defendant, Joseph C. San Nicolas Jr., 25, through counsel Pamela Brown, waived his rights to a preliminary hearing.
The OAG alleged that on Feb. 8, 2014, the two entered Mobil Gas Station in Chalan Piao. Igisomar, allegedly armed with a machete, stole money from the cash register and a purse belonging to the cashier. San Nicolas held the gas attendant in a headlock from behind and held a possible piece of hollow block against his neck. The suspects then ran outside and headed north on foot.
Police’s follow-up investigation and a concerned citizen’s tip led to the suspects’ arrest last April 4.
