IN ANOTHER SEXUAL ABUSE OF MINOR CASE:
Probable cause found to charge registered sex offender
Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho has found probable cause to charge registered sex offender Nathan Iano Narcis on allegations that he sexually abused a 7-year-old girl at a residence on Rota.
At a preliminary hearing on Friday, Camacho found probable cause to charge the 31-year-old Narcis with sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree and disturbing the peace.
Camacho ordered Narcis, also known as Nate Dawg, to answer the charges.
Camacho, however, dismissed without prejudice the charge of assault and battery.
Dismissal without prejudice means the government may re-file the charge.
The judge said the crime of assault and battery is a lesser charge included in a sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree, therefore no probable cause was found.
Arraignment will be on June 6 at 9am.
Narcis was remanded to the Department of Corrections.
Assistant attorney general Shannon Foley appeared for the government. Chief public defender Douglas Hartig served as counsel for Narcis.
Camacho earlier imposed a $100,000 cash bail.
Rota Police Detective Tito S. Hocog II stated in his report that police arrested Narcis last May 21 at 11pm after the girl’s mother contacted Rota Department of Public Safety to file a complaint of child molestation against Narcis.
Hocog said the mother learned about the incident that night after her daughter went to her, looking scared and with a shivering voice.
The girl told her mother that Lizama touched her private part.
Hocog said Narcis is a registered sex offender after he was convicted with sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree in 2008.
Hocog said as a registered sex offender, Narcis is prohibited to be anywhere with minors.
Narcis is a community worker at the Rota Municipal Council.
