Every Saturday in February, the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library held a KidzCamp for children ages 6-12, to increase the participants’ awareness of taking care of their health, and how we can keep our hearts healthy, as well as provide a fun weekend activity for children. Over 40 children were able to participate.

Each day, the participants visited three stations: dance, computer, and arts & crafts. Each station had a different activity each day, from participating in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activities, to exploring media-enhance books online, to learning some fun dances.

The Friends of the Joeten-Kiyu Public library, the Northern Marianas College Nursing Club, the Public School System Food and Nutrition Services, AmeriCorps volunteers, the Northern Marianas Humanities Council Motheread/Fatheread Family Literacy Program, and library volunteers made this program happen.
