The night was definitely memorable for Celso Reginio and Jason Salazar after winning employee of the year awards from McDonald’s during their company party last Saturday night.
The annual celebration at the Saipan World Resort’s Royal Taga Hall pampered its guests with drinks, a buffet, and live performances by fellow coworkers. Employees were presented with a series of awards throughout the night.
Reginio, the employee of the year from McDonald’s Middle Road branch, said, “I didn’t expect to win this. For someone who has been working for only eight to nine months, I’m really honored to even be considered, let alone be its recipient.”
Salazar, the employee of the year for McDonald’s Garapan, said, “It feels very, very good to receive it. I feel incredibly appreciated for all the work I’ve done from the past year and I’m so thankful to McDonald’s for everything they’ve done for me.”
The perfect attendance winners from the main store included Charlie Achas, Myrna Pagcu, and Gil Gapor, while the Garapan branch’s winners were Florie Binongo, Gerald Bautista, and Marineth Cruz.
Joe Ayuyu Jr., manager of McDonald’s Middle Road, said “This event is important for our employees because it’s our company’s way of showing our appreciation to them. Coming together as a big family, it’s very important to not only reach out to them, but their families and people they care about, so we can fully extend our thanks for a job well done.”
The awards for employee of the quarter went to Roselyn Janairo from the Middle Road branch and Jason Salazar from the Garapan branch for the first quarter.
Milagros King and Dexter Castro received the same awards for the second quarter, while Celso Reginio and Mary Grace Castro won for the third quarter. Theodore Ladra and Sherwin Gaspar were recipients of the fourth quarter awards.
Mabel Ayuyu, executive assistant to the president, said, “I think the event was fantastic! We almost hit 100 percent in attendance and this is just one of the ways we show our appreciation to the employees. The company wishes to extend its sincerest appreciation to its vendors for the night, sponsors, leaders, president and owner of McDonald’s on Saipan and Guam Joe Ayuyu and all crewmembers on Saipan and in Guam.”
