Registered sex offender arrested again for allegedly sexually abusing minor on Rota
A registered sex offender was arrested again over the weekend for allegedly sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl at a residence on Rota.
Nathan Iano Narcis, 31, also known as “Nat Dawg,” was taken to Saipan Superior Court yesterday for bail hearing on charges of sexual abuse of a minor in the first degree, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.
Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $100,000 cash bail and set the preliminary hearing for May 27 at 9:30am.
Assistant public defender Tillman Clark was appointed as counsel for Narcis. Assistant attorney general Betsy Weintraub appeared for the government.
Police Detective Tito S. Hocog II stated in his report that police arrested Narcis on Saturday at 11pm after the girl’s mother contacted Rota Department of Public Safety to file a complaint of child molestation against Narcis.
Hocog said when two police officers arrived at the house, they observed Narcis crying and telling the girl’s mother that he was sorry.
Hocog said the mother learned about the incident that night after her daughter went to her, looking scared and with a shivering voice.
The girl told her mother that Lizama touched her private part.
Hocog said Narcis is a registered sex offender after he was convicted with sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree in 2008.
Hocog said as a registered sex offender, Narcis is prohibited to be anywhere with minors.
Narcis is a community worker at the Rota Municipal Council.
