Reprogramming of $1.4M CIP money OK’d
The four-member Tinian and Aguiguan Legislative Delegation approved yesterday the reprogramming of more than $1.4 million in remaining capital improvement projects money for road paving and historic site preservation projects on Tinian.
By a vote of 4-0, the delegation adopted Resolution 17-8, Draft 1 during a session yesterday afternoon.
Under the resolution, $1,413,342 in CIP money will be reprogrammed for the following projects: $1 million for Marpo Heights II road improvement; $313,242 for Carolinas Heights road improvements; and $100,000 for the preservation and protection of the House of Taga Park as an offered amendment by Sen. Henry San Nicolas (Cov-Tinian).
The House of Taga is a historical site containing invaluable ancient latte stones, skeletal remains of indigenous people, and other ancient artifacts. (Haidee V. Eugenio)
