Over 100 spectators came together with government organizations and non-profit groups last Saturday at the Marianas Business Plaza for a celebration of the many progresses the CNMI has made since Super Typhoon Yutu wreaked havoc on the CNMI last October 2018.

The first-ever Resiliency Fest, organized by the Lady Diann Torres Foundation in collaboration with various government agencies, drew spectators to featured performances by the John Dank Show and local artists like Studio 29:11, Saipan Music & Dance Studio, Goddhy, Dagu Diggers, and Big Jay Selepeo.

Relief goods were distributed at the festival. There were also artworks, with the LDTF unveiling the final work of the foundation’s Project Aligi, which featured local artists showcasing their artworks in concrete power poles throughout the island with a recurring topic of resiliency in the CNMI.

Gov. Ralph DLG Torres himself attended the festival and thanked the entire CNMI and assured that recovery efforts are continuing and that the CNMI government continues to work with federal partners such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

First lady Diann Torres acknowledged the help of the CNMI Governor’s Office, the Saipan Mayor’s Office, and the Commonwealth Health Care Corp.’s Crisis Counseling Program for making this program possible. “Without their help, this event would not be possible, especially through the planning to make it happen,” she said. “You are all here because you are all strong, and you’ve got something to celebrate, which is our resiliency.”
