Rota Mayor Efraim Atalig has once again contributed to relief efforts on Saipan, handing to Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang non-perishable items for distribution.

Atalig delivered the donations to Apatang’s office last Friday.

Saipan Mayor’s Office special assistant Henry Hofschneider said that they will be seeking the help of organizations such as the American Red Cross-NMI Chapter or other groups willing to distribute the donations to the community.

“We’re going to call up organizations like Red Cross or any organization that can work with us to make sure that all the families that need it the most so that it could be distributed and also if the organization have clear mission to give it out to the community,” Hofschneider said.

Atalig said that during Typhoon Dolphin, the mayor of Saipan, along with the municipal councils and the Tinian and Northern Island mayors, teamed up to hold a Typhoon Dolphin Relief 4-Rota drive.

Apatang also personally gave monetary and food donations to Atalig after the Typhoon Dolphin relief drive.

“During our time of need, community members on Saipan came and helped us. Now, it is our turn to help the community of Saipan in their time of need,” Atalig said.

“The donations we received plainly showed that we have each other’s back. The donations will certainly help out residents of Saipan who need some assistance,” Apatang said.

Apatang and Atalig also thanked the Saipan Young Professionals, Napalese community, G4S, Java Joe’s, Kano Resort, City Trust Bank, Bridge Capital, Chong Int. Corp., Coca-Cola Co., Green Air Conditioning, and Docomo Pacific for their generosity and show of care to the people of Rota and Saipan.
